A Chattanooga man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly raped a woman earlier this week.

Police responded to a report of a rape in the 1100 block of Charwood Lane on Tuesday and spoke with the victim who said she passed out after drinking during a house party at the home, according to court documents.

She said she awoke to find an acquaintance, Robert Casey, had removed her clothes and was having sex with her. She screamed and ran to her sister who was with her boyfriend across the hall.

The sister corroborated the victim's account to police, saying the victim was not wearing pants even though she was fully clothed when she passed out.

Another roommate also stated that immediately after the incident, Casey was hurriedly putting on his clothes. The roommate also said Casey gathered up his bedsheets and threw them into the washing machine before fleeing the scene.

The victim was examined at a rape crisis center and a nurse confirmed there was evidence supporting the victim's account. Casey was arrested the following day and charged with rape and tampering with evidence.

He is next scheduled to appear in court before General Sessions Judge Clarence Shattuck on Tuesday.
