Three charged with sex trafficking

Three new people are sitting in the Hamilton County Jail after investigators said they found the suspects were using a 15-year-old girl for commercial sex trafficking.

On Thursday, the FBI requested the assistance of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office in an investigation into human trafficking activity over the last two weeks in and around motels in the vicinity of Lee Highway and Bonny Oaks Drive, according to a news release.

Those arrested in the course of the investigation were Savannah Grissum, 20, Alonzo Westmoreland, 29 and Charles Battle, 21.

All three are charged with five counts of trafficking for commercial sex and one count of promoting prostitution. They are scheduled to appear in court before General Sessions Judge Gary Starnes on June 20.
