Lookouts top Barons 12-2 in rain-shortened game

The Chattanooga Lookouts were given credit for a 12-2 victory Saturday night in Birmingham, Alabama, and half their runs came in a sixth inning that was stopped by rain with the Lookouts still batting.

James Ramsey and Andy Wilkins hit home runs as Chattanooga improved to 36-33, clinching a winning record for the Southern League's first half. Ramsey hit a two-run homer to right field in the third inning, and Wilkins launched a three-run homer to left in the sixth, when the Lookouts batted around and had just one out when the game was halted.

The five-game series in Birmingham, and the first half of the 2018 season, ends today in a 4 p.m. EDT start. The Lookouts will make a game-day decision on their starting pitcher, while the Barons are scheduled to start Jordan Guerrero (2-6, 6.35 ERA).
