The two were in a vehicle and did not immediately stop when deputies attempted to pull them over for speeding, the news release states. Another deputy was called to assist with the stop when they saw someone throw a plastic bag from the passenger-side window.

When deputies finally stopped the vehicle and approached, they saw a crystalline substance on the passenger. The deputies also were able to recover the plastic bag thrown from the window and saw that it also contained a quantity of a crystalline substance.

Both the substance on the passenger and in the bag tested positive for methamphetamine.

An additional amount of crystalline substance was recovered from the floor and door of the vehicle, along with digital scales. Approximately 34 grams of methamphetamine was seized during the arrest.

Ploof has been released on $25,000 secure bond. She and McClure have a March 6 court date.

"Another battle won in our war on drugs in Cherokee County," Sheriff Derrick Palmer said in a statement. "What was taken off the street today potentially cost these dealers a little over $3,000.00, but the amount is immeasurable when looking at the potential lives that could be saved."
