DeKalb County, Ala., inmate walks off work detail

Authorities in DeKalb County, Alabama, this afternoon issued an alert to be on the lookout for an inmate from Grundy County who walked away from a work crew detail in Rainsville.

Keith Amos Clark, 43, of Tracy City, Tennessee, had been incarcerated at the DeKalb County Detention Center for the past 64 days and had been part of the work crew, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a statement.

"Today, while working at the Agricultural Center in Rainsville with eight other inmates, Clark walked off [the] work detail," Harris' statement said.

Clark has no violent crimes on his record and is not believed to be armed, officials said.

"We urge the citizens of this County to be on the lookout for Clark and if anyone sees Clark, please don't try to make contact with him and call the sheriff's office, 911, or your local police department," Harris said.
