Ballet Tennessee Primary Recital
Ballet Tennessee Primary Recital, an end-of-year performance for students ages 3 to 8, will be held Saturday, May 26, at 2 p.m. in Center for Creative Arts, 1301 Dallas Road.Ballet Tennessee’s Primary division is composed of creative movement, pre-ballet and primary ballet classes. This division is committed to the joyous exploration of dance, where children are guided to learn by example and repetition.Tickets for this recital are $12 if purchased in advance on Eventbrite.The Center for Creative Arts Box Office will open one hour prior to the performance. Tickets purchased at the box office are $15.
An alumnus of Ballet Tennessee's summer dance program will return to town this weekend to perform in Ballet Tennessee's Spring Festival of Dance.
LeRonnie Ervin, a graduate of Ballet Tennessee's Talent Identification Program and a student in the Alabama School of Fine Arts, will dance the part of Prince Siegfried in Act II of "Swan Lake." His partner will be Hannah Locke, Ballet Tennessee principal dancer, as Odette.
The Ballet Tennessee Spring Festival of Dance will begin at 7 p.m. at the Center for Creative Arts, 1301 Dallas Road.
The performance will showcase students from VanCura Ballet Conservatory, the official school of Ballet Tennessee, and the Ballet Tennessee Company, under the director of Anna Van Cura. The evening will include performances in many different genres of dance as well as the featured excerpt from "Swan Lake."
Ervin is a full merit-scholarship student at Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham. He has studied under Wes Chapman, Martha Faesi and Terri Weksler.
In January 2016, he was invited to be a guest performer with Collage Dance Collective in Memphis. He spent summer 2017 on scholarship at American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive in Austin, Texas, and summer 2016 in Ballet Tennessee's Summer Intensive.
Tickets for Ballet Tennessee Spring Festival of Dance are $20 adults, $18 students and senior adults if purchased in advance on Eventbrite.com.
