If you ever saw the Jeff Foxworthy movie "Crackerjack," you might remember the one-armed softball player named Lefty. Lefty was played by comedian Derrick Tennant, who will be at The Comedy Catch, 1400 Market St., Thursday through Sunday, May 24-27, for one 7:30 p.m. show each night.

Tennant made the most of a tragedy in his life by creating an opportunity for a career. While a promising athlete, Tennant suffered an injury that left him in a coma. After brain surgery, years of rehab and life in a wheelchair, he ultimately got on his feet again.

Despite the very limited use of his left side, Tennant loves life and says he looks on the "right side" of things. He worked hard to overcome physical challenges and now works just as hard to help others overcome their trials through his comedy and inspirational speaking.

Tickets for shows Thursday or Sunday are $10. Shows on Friday and Saturday are $16.
