Bret Michaels

Bret Michaels — born Bret Michael Sychak — has been a rock star and a TV star.

As the frontman for Poison, he provided the vocals for their No. 1 single "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." The song was written after a breakup in which his ex claimed that fame had changed him.

On TV, he was a judge on the talent show "Nashville Now" and starred on the hit VH1 reality show "Rock of Love With Bret Michaels" and its sequel, "Rock My World." He was listed at No. 40 on Hit Parader's list of Greatest Heavy Metal Singers of All Time.

Michaels also has had a successful solo singing career, including his debut, "A Letter From Death Row," a soundtrack for a movie of the same name that he directed, wrote and starred in.
