Former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football player Tae Davis signed a free-agent deal with the New York Giants on Saturday.

"Nothing but God!!! Thankful for the opportunity @Giants! I promise you won't regret it!!! #GiantsPride" Davis tweeted Saturday evening.

Davis - a former safety who played linebacker as a senior - officially checked in at 6-foot-1, 224 pounds at UTC's pro day this spring. He finished last season with 74 tackles (12 for loss), defended a pass and forced a fumble. He was credited with six quarterback hurries during the season, including three in the finale against East Tennessee State, and received an invitation to the NFLPA Bowl after the season.

He had three games with at least 10 tackles, including 14 in the 23-21 upset of then eighth-ranked Samford that earned him Southern Conference defensive player of the week honors.

He also had 13 tackles at LSU.
