PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic - Two former Baylor School golfers finished in the top five Sunday at the Corales Puntacana Resort and Club Championship, with Keith Mitchell posting his first top-10 finish on the PGA Tour and Harris English tying for fifth.

Brice Garnett completed a wire-to-wire victory for his first PGA Tour title, closing with a 2-under-par 70 in windy and rainy conditions to finish at 18-under 270 and win by four strokes.

Sunday still had plenty of rewards for the 26-year-old Mitchell, who closed with a 67.

He entered the weekend having earned $119,492 and having collected 55 FedExCup points in his rookie season. But his performance at the tournament, which included shaking off a third-round 75 and making a birdie putt at the 18th hole Sunday for sole possession of second place, resulted in $324,000 in earnings and 165 FedEx points.

He might have gained some confidence as well.

"When you get close to the lead on the PGA Tour, it's an experience, it's tough," Mitchell said. "I'm not beating myself up for it, but I felt like today kind of showed me that I can do it."

English closed with a 70 and was among eight golfers who finished at 11 under. He earned $91,688.

Garnett was two strokes ahead of Corey Conners after Saturday's third round.

"I slept good, actually," Garnett said. "Surprisingly, I did. I woke up a little bit early, a little bit restless, but I was just excited for the day. We talked last night that obstacles were opportunities, so it's fun."

The 34-year-old Garnett was a two-time winner last year on the Web.com Tour, the same circuit from which Mitchell advanced.

On Sunday, Garnett birdied Nos. 2-4, bogeyed Nos. 5-6 and birdied No. 7. He birdied the par-3 11th, parred the next seven and closed with a bogey.

"I just wanted to make nine pars on the back," Garnett said. "I got off to a great start."

Kelly Kraft (67) was third at 13 under, with Denny McCarthy (70) another stroke back.

"I thought this place was supposed to be paradise," Kraft said. "It was not today. It was tough out there, for sure. The wind was brutal, and it rained like pretty much every hole except for my first few."

Chattanooga's Stephan Jaeger (72), another Baylor School graduate, tied for 54th at 2 under in a group that included Athens, Tenn., native Eric Axley (71).

All four Baylor graduates on the PGA Tour - Mitchell, English, Jaeger and Luke List, who played in the World Golf Championships' Dell Technologies Match Play this past week - are scheduled to compete later this week in the Houston Open.

It's the last tournament before the Masters, the year's first major.
