' What: Several thousand car enthusiasts visited Camp Jordan over the recent two-day Bug-a-Paluza event, which featured a Volkswagen car show, swap meet, vendors, contests and prizes.

' Benefits: The event raised $22,302 for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Chattanooga, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting and keeping families together while their children are in the hospital.

"While all the Volkswagen enthusiasts enjoy the first-class event put on by Scenic City Volks Folks at Camp Jordan, families of sick children benefit from the proceeds when they need the services of the Ronald McDonald House. The ability to stay at little or no cost relieves families of the worry of costly hotel bills, food, parking and more when their child is sick," says Jane Kaylor, executive director of RMHC of Greater Chattanooga.

The amount raised will pay for 338 families to stay at the Ronald McDonald House for one night. It costs RMHC of Greater Chattanooga $66 to house one family for one night.
