Alabama landed a late quarterback for its 2018 signing class Friday, snatching former Arkansas State commitment Layne Hatcher.
The 6-foot-1, 204-pound Hatcher played at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock, and he was rated by 247Sports.com as a three-star prospect and the No. 53 dual-threat quarterback. He is scheduled to begin classes Tuesday in Tuscaloosa.
"Extremely excited to announce I have received an offer from the University of Alabama," Hatcher posted on Twitter. "I can not wait to be at Alabama and be a part of the great winning tradition."
Hatcher will join junior Jalen Hurts, sophomore Tua Tagovailoa and redshirt freshman Mac Jones as Crimson Tide quarterbacks.
